On Singing, Acting, and the Moment of Excellence!

Singing, acting, and directing have always been part of my life. I sang my first solo when I was four years old, and I directed my first musical when I was 21. I've sung on many different opera stages, and I have had the honor of being on the vocal faculty of prestigious institutions like Duke University and the Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen, Germany, but the path wasn't easy. There were set-backs I had to overcome, and I often doubted whether or not I would make it. 

Through ups and downs I kept going. I was obsessed with learning everything about the voice, about acting, about the stage, about overcoming debilitating fears that stand between you and your success. Nothing could stop me. This obsession enabled me to hone my own skills both as a speaker and as a coach. It enabled me to help countless singers, actors, speakers and business leaders to find and own their own voice. I helped them master the voice as a powerful tool, master the body language to influence their audience, and to master owning the room to connect with their audience at a depth that can only be described as magic.

Helping you to find this moment of magic, this ability to be perfectly calm, centered and focused even in challenging times or when working with difficult people is my life's goal. 

In my work with leaders of all types, I have learned several things:

• It is not enough to be good at giving presentations. You have to be able to walk in and own the room.
• It is not enough to be confident. You have to be able to master your inner state so that no one can bring you out of your center -- no matter what the situation.
• It is not enough to just exist. You have to be connected to your inner being and let that inner being shine outward to touch those around you.
